SCOPE AND HISTORY OF THE FIRM'S PRACTICE. The history of our firm is that Richard W. Yarling founded the firm in 1963. He had been practicing insurance defense law with the firm of Smith & Yarling since 1949.
The firm has a general trial and appellate practice in the areas of negligence, insurance, commercial, bankruptcy, corporation, product liability, probate law and probate and estate planning law. The insurance areas are defense of insureds in automobile, homeowners, commercial and product liability cases. In addition, we are engaged in representation of insurers in cases involving direct actions against the insurers, coverage questions and subrogation. The commercial and bankruptcy areas include representation of creditors in commercial and consumer cases both as plaintiffs and defendants.
We have developed an excellent working relationship with all of our clients and their staff members. We are currently representing these clients in all counties in Indiana. The firm also handles cases in the area of probate and corporate law. The firm has participated in a number of cases that are reported.
We are fully computerized and are currently linked to LenStar, Lincs, CounselLink, I-Clear, Vendorscape, NewTrak, and NewInvoice for our clients. We have an extensive library and are located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis near both the State and Federal Courts. Our offices are dignified and tasteful. We provide off street parking for your insureds and employees when it becomes necessary to visit our offices. We have an excellent working relationship with the Courts and other law firms.
